There are so many ways to nourish and heal ourselves with nature and plants. I prefer to make it a daily rhythm and ritual and use herbs as a support rather than combative. I have found that making herbal infusions is an easy and rather simple approach to keeping myself healthy.
Infusions are basically an easy way to nourish your body with the oils and flavors of healing herbs. An Infusion is a process of steeping herbs in water until the water absorbs the oils and flavors, then drinking the liquid for the taste or for the medicinal properties. The method will show you uses a standard ratio of herbs to the water. Sometimes, it may vary depending on the herb but overall it is the same. I should mention these infusions can be hot or cold. This herbal infusion is a sage herbal infusion that I enjoy daily for memory, hair support, and inflammatory issues. I love to add honey and ground cinnamon to balance the savory flavor of sage.

YOU WILL NEED
1-2 teaspoonsful of dried herbs or 2-4 teaspoonsful of fresh herbs, either a single herb or a blend
6 ounces of freshly boiled water
teapot or tea ball infuser
strainer
teacup
honey or flavoring
pitcher if storing for later
INSTRUCTIONS
Warm the teapot. Place the herbs in the teapot and add the freshly boiled water.
Place the lid on the teapot to prevent the oils from escaping. This is really important for aromatic herbs like lemon balm and chamomile. Steep the herbs to infuse for 10-15 minutes.
Strain the liquid, pouring it into a teacup, then drink warm or leave to cool. Add half a teaspoon of honey for sweetness, if you’d like.
